We have a great team of coaches consisting of qualified and junior coaches. We also currently have a large, proactive and committed committee which helps the smooth running of the club. It is through the effort of all those involved that we were able to keep the club going through the pandemic providing training opportunities throughout in a safe and controlled way. The continued support from the members and parents has been second to none.

Mel Arnold

Head Coach

I’m head coach Mel, I have been with the Gosport Gators Coaching team for 7 years, and within that time I have achieved my Level 1 and Level 2 coaching qualifications. I have worked mainly with the junior teams, but I hope to work further with the adult teams and the back to netballers when I can. I have played netball since junior school and I currently play within the Gosport league, Portsmouth league and also at Hampshire league being coached by some very experienced Hampshire and Regional coaches which only benefits my own coaching skills.

Liz Hendrick

Coach

I joined GGNC about 15 years ago when my daughter started playing for the club. I hadn't played netball for about 30 years but got approached to help out with a team some of the parents had put together to play in a tournament. I got the bug and have played competitively ever since in the Gators Gold Team. I became a coach 'to help out' and went on to complete my level 1 and level 2 coaching certificate, stepping in to the Head Coach role when the club needed it and then into the Chairman role. I also run the Tuesday adult training session which encourages ladies to come back to netball.

Sam Smith

Coach

I started to really play netball in college and quickly joined the first team and loved every minute. I started playing for a team in the Gosport league. Played for many years in both Gosport and Portsmouth league then ruptured my ACL. I had the surgery to repair but was terrified to go back to playing for about 18 months. I eventually plucked up enough courage to attend one of Hannah’s back to netball sessions at St Vincent’s and the rest is now history. She asked me to join her team after a week or so.
